Artist to Artist Inspiration
I was working on my print Continents Apart, but Always in My Heart and brought it to a Buffalo Grove Artist's League Meeting for a critique. During my critique, I was asked about the butterfly and it's significance, so I told them my story...
When I first started school, I was waiting for the bus every morning with Mom outside. The first week or so, there was a Monarch butterfly that met me each morning and I would play with it. Chasing it back and forth and all around, my Mom swears that it looked like we were dancing together. So, it seemed fitting to add it to my print.
After telling the story Pat Hawkins, another artist in the league, was so inspired by my story that she created a mosaic artwork of a butterfly and called it Lisa's Butterfly! I am so honored!!!
